There has been no sight or sound of Mr. Wiley Cayote, but we know that he is still around, he was kind enough (NOT) to leave a big poop right in the farm gateway. It's bad enough that he has invited himself onto our farm but he could at least have left his "leave behinds" somewhere we couldn't find them. We have taken a chance and started turning the flock out into the pasture...turning them out isn't a problem, the little ones just run with mom,..(sometimes I swear that they are still latched onto the milky bar). Now, getting everyone back to the barn is much more interesting. The brat pack get separated from the formation eating team who are more interested in the grass than supervising their over active offspring. The lambs are so busy resisting any attempts to restrain their enthusiasm that when the pasture gate is opened, the ewes, impatient to top up heavy grass bellys with their evening feed, fight to be first to the feeder and the bewildered babies are suddenly all alone in the great big world ! The gate is open, moms have gone, what to do now ??? So they run and they run, round and round the pasture, past the gate, dodging the dog, swerving around us, eventually, thankfully for some reason they just panic and put themselves through the fence..the head fits but fat little bodies have no chance, little legs scrabbling, little tails flapping... capture, thank goodness, I thought we were going to be chasing lambs all night !

Today Dolly, Molly Moo and Rodney the ram were turned out into the back pasture. Surprisingly the ladies were initially none too enthusiastic about having to go and find their own breakfast, Dolly and Molly moo heavily pregnant and looking like two tanks resisted leaving the security of the barn but once they found the fresh Spring grass their heads went down and I don't think they lifted them again for several hours. Getting them in this evening might make getting the lambs in look easy !

Well, today,( in case somehow you managed to sleep through the past few weeks) was the royal wedding, in a curious kind of way, I had a lump in my throat, if there is anything that the British are REALLY good at, it's throwing a really good royal wedding. I love America and am so very happy that my life is here but I have to admit that I am really proud of my heritage and love the pomp and pageantry that we do so well. Having said that, it's time to get my rubber boots on again, dust off the manure and get back down to the barn...Take care, M

You mention the pommp and circumstance with the wedding. Well you never atteded a polish wedding. At our wedding we served about 75 guests who were family and friends a breakfast, because our wedding took place at 10:00A.M. and then served 500guest in the evening. Our reception lasted until 1:A.M. Then we served about 75 guesst a breakfast on sunday who were relatives that lived in the area and guests who were from out of town. So I guess we can compare. The only thing we didn't do was go on a honeymoon because dad had to go into the service after the wedding. Mom
