Finally got the last 5 tons of hay today. Barn is stocked, hopefully until next hay season (2017). This go around was a lot easier stacking the hay. The tractor diesel engine did almost all the work. Kana also agreed it was a whole lot easier than loading and unloading a trailer in the heat of the summer using real muscle power. Great way to end the hay season. Thank you Kana for the help. Now it's on to getting the big field fenced. Never ends around here!

Saturday morning Cupcake needed a shower (AKA butt cleaning) before being turned out again with the rest of the flock. She had a case of scours and needed some rehab time (about a week) before going back with the flock.
Putting the finishing touches on the job we started yesterday. Will keep us warm for several weeks this winter!
I would say Hunter has fit right into daily life on the ranch. Every day wanting more and more to drink. Once again, thanks Maureen. You always seem to convince me of the right choices!
Friday was play day. Up into the woods to collect a load (or 2) of logs. Fir and Maple. Going to make some great boards. Kana and Alexandre had some fun (I think I did too!). Keep the mill busy.
Maureen has done it again!! Another Jersey calf! Twinkle in her eye and "Greeggg... We need another calf to drink all the extra milk from Bella..." I tried to say "Not another one!?" Maureen put up a fight over the idea that I suggested the Subaru as the livestock hauler, but since we took the ferry to Vashon Island to get the calf, I won, Maureen lost. Maureen says "Sorry Annie". You should have seen the looks we got from pedestrians and the crew. All said and done, I know Maureen won!!
Time of year when there is a good deal of gardening and mowing that needs to be done. Visitors always get a chance to join in the fun. Our latest guest that is enjoying the activities. Jim has also been busy working on his "Air Ship". Today we will take a break from the outdoor activities since our rain dance has paid off. As I look out the window, the sky is falling! Yeah... rain... What a difference from last year. Love it. Good wishes to you all.
