Well, Greg's week just got worse....Whilst trying to fix the cement mixer that tried it's hardest to commit suicide yesterday, the patio umbrella  that he had put out on the deck to dry for winter storage relocated itself onto the roof. I HATE to say it (again) ...BUT, I did say (without any aerodynamic know how, I have to say) "that umbrella could take off if the wind was caught under it". Clearly, I was right (again).  Not a good day for Greg..I could live on this one for a while (smile). As Mum would have said .."what would the neighbors (neighbours) say ?"
Take care keep safe and, if the wife tries to offer advice......PLEASE listen to her ! M

Not Everyone Likes The Rain!

Some serious wet stuff fell from some very heavy grey clouds yesterday. After a Summer of unbroken  blue cloudless skies and unrelenting sunshine not everyone on the ranch was overjoyed to witness the arrival of the Autumn season. The feathered residents of the shack retreated under the protective eaves of the chicken house watching the raindrops fill the moonscape craters dug through the parched Summer months. Bella the beautiful golden Jersey and Sirloin the little red Dexter steer stretched their heads out of the warm dry cedar barn and were persuaded reluctantly to venture through the expanding puddles out into the pasture. Bran the Border Collie and little Luke "encouraged" Barney and his woolly harem from the security of the sheep pen through the relentless sheeting rain down a wet and muddy Cow Lane. The horses turned their tails into the wind and perfected the portrait of misery as manes and tails dripped into growing puddles around muddy hooves and Greg and I sadly re evaluated the economic relevance of the Home Depot, made in China plastic gutters as water cascaded through joints, expanded by the heat of the Summer months. Tiger and Shy the sibling and now aged barn cats, no lovers of wet weather skirted the edge of the barn, carefully keeping little feline paws and keen cats whiskers out of the enlarging puddles and dripping gutters. Happily, Erin and I utilized the cascading gutter overflow and effortlessly cleaned and refilled stall buckets..unhappily, an unexpected cold water drip down my back from the overflowing gutters was a harsh reminder of the onset of the winter months.
"You are my buddy, you are my friend, we'll be together 'till the end" . Please spare a moment to pray for someone special to us who really need your prayers right now. Stay strong Mum J. We love you.
Take care, keep safe, M

TODAY WAS A DAY FOR REFLECTION.

Nineteen years ago today, about sunset, Greg took me up the High Finance Restaurant, two miles high on the peak of the Sandia range of mountains in beautiful New Mexico,  for the "biggest Marguerite" I have ever had and one of the most stunning sunsets ever. Sadly, after the "biggest Marguerite I have ever seen" and a breathtaking sunset experience, the very nice young lady arrived with the bill..even more sadly, our romantic and memorable experience was made even more memorable by the absence of Greg's wallet....sitting on the dashboard of the Herz hire car, two miles down at the bottom of the mountain.

The next morning, after watching the mist rise over the mountains and the air balloons drift off into the rising sun, we declared our love for each other before God and family  and made the vows that would guide us through our lives together.

Nineteen years Later, I live with my best friend, I work with my best friend and when my day is over, I go home with the best friend. Thank you Greg for always being there for me. I look forward to the next 19 years and, if God has other plans for us, thank you for the years we have had together. I love my life, I love you, thank you for believing in and loving me....and yes, after today's excavating, I hurt !!!!

Take care, keep safe, M
