Today was no different. Maureen was off to a farmer's market meeting and I responding to a call for a load of manure. Well, that load turned into 6 loads, with tearing out a fence in the process. I wanted to remove the fence anyway to make way for a new pad for the manure compost piles. Not quite what I had in mind for the day, but anyway I was able to get a new project started.
Checked on the chicks, all 425, and all are doing well. There are 120 fryers and 305 layers. We have brooders everywhere!! Visitors love to see all the variety. In September we should have over 400 eggs a day!! Thats a 700% increase in production. Watch out cholesterol level if we don't sell them all. At least then I be able to get a taste of our own eggs with lots left for customers.
Well its time for rest (bedtime). 5 am comes awful early....
