The rain is back !

So October has arrived and someone turned the tap (fawcett) on, I guess it will probably be a long time before we are able to complain about the heat again and I sit here listening to the rain hitting the deck, …..maybe hot wasn’t so bad !!

Rescue lamb number 21 had apparently recovered sufficiently from what we suspect was sustained savaging by the families dog and we had rehoused her with her siblings. During the Farm Tour one of our little guests named the badly scarred lamb who is now known as Alice….naming of an animal is significant, little Alice will be joining Lamb Chop and Chance on the “safe” list and will never turn into lamb chops.   Unfortunately as the little lady had slowly recovered her strength, her attitude was less hesitant to return. Little 21 has enough attitude for an animal ten times her size. Little Miss Attitude has become accustomed to 2 meals a day to try to get her medication and strength into her. Once returned to the main group individual meals are impossible and Alice was forced to share. Clearly, these living arrangements were not acceptable and the little lady staged two attempted breakouts. Luckily Bran the Border Collie was ready and waiting….unluckily Bran the Border Collie didn’t bring Alice back….Bran sent Alice further away ! DOH !!!Sadly Alice’s wounds are still raw and it was necessary to return her to her hospital pen/luxury suite ( where she will get her two meals a day ! mmmm) but this time Alice has company, little Chance (who also has a Guardian Angel) has been assigned big sister status. Hopefully this time little Alices wounds will fully recover.

Greg and Quatre worked on their abs and pecs yesterday and the cement blocks in the trailer were moved. Unfortunately for Quatre…and arguably fortunately for Greg, a farm visitor arrived and Greg had to abandon the project leaving  ever willing Quatre alone with a ton or two of cement blocks!I offered her Ibruprofen !!

Got to go, it’s almost 7.30 and time to go and check out the rain. Take care, keep safe, M
