The Brits are coming....

The invasion has begun !!! I hoisted the flag yesterday morning with a new enthusiasm, by"the flag" , I mean the red white and blue one....ummmmm, the one without the stars and stripes... and it wasn't bigger or higher than Old Glory but as it fluttered I knew big brother John was in the air and on his way. John has been before to the labor camp..I mean Ranch, it's a constant source of amazement to me that he comes back !! For several weeks before John  arrives, Greg can be heard mumbling or muttering, "that can be a John chore "...John was going to be here for 3 weeks, the snow in New york saved him and for the two weeks he is to be here, he has 6 weeks of chores !! On Saturday younger sister Trish arrives from Holland , I will give her time to get over jet lag before I set her to work,...and hour or two should work ! So, next week there will be 3 of us here, almost a family reunion. This year also begins with our new involvement with the WOOFER programme, if any of our potential volunteers is reading this, please note, slave labor is reserved for family members....we will be a little kinder to you. I just heard the weather forcast for today...it's colder here than alaska, and over the past few days I have no difficulty believing it !! I have so many clothes on that Greg could put me out the door and roll me down the hill to the barn. Getting to the bathroom takes two hours planning and I'm never sure which layer of clothes is hiding my phone, even if I find it before it goes to message mode, I can't open it till I peel 3 layers of gloves off ! We can tell how cold each night has been by the thickness of the  layer of ice broken in the water troughs each day and in the chicken houses, chickens pile on top of each other to get under the heat lamp which is keeping their water from freezing . Tomorrow the rain will be back and I'll be moaning again. smile. Oh well, it's time again. Time to go and start layering up for the Arctic freeze. Stay warm, keep safe, take care, M
