Well, another era has come to an end. Michael is heading off to spend his Summer in Alaska this weekend after 2 months with us. Apparently his diet will start when he leaves the ranch, it's that or his trousers go up another pant size !..I sure hope there is a coffee machine VERY handy in Sitka or Michael will be having a coffee pot sized break down ! While Michael has been here, much has been achieved and it is going to be strange not to see him around the barnyard and pastures. Thank you Michael for all you have done. Rain shine and wind.
It has so far been a Summer of changing faces. Young Ben headed off to Colorado after three weeks on the ranch and we had a lovely final evening with mom Kim before he left. Thank you Ben, it was fun having you on the ranch and we hope to follow your future in Antarctica.
Eyal and Lee arrived for three weeks on the ranch before heading off to experience farming the "Oregon way" and both have quickly familiarized themselves with the daily routine the "Gentle Giant Meadows way" Lee has kept the chicken flock happy with a constant flow of weeds from the garden and Eyal has already made a substantial increase in our log pile for the Winter months. We look forward to spending time with our new guests and hope that their time with us, as with all our guests is one that they will remember as a happy time in a constantly changing world. Life on the ranch is never quiet, sometimes crazy...but always fun. Take care, keep safe, M
