PRUNES !!!, I hate Prunes, I hate prunes more than spinach ( I'm definitely carniverous,I don't do vedgetables, if God wanted me to eat lettice, he'd have made me a rabbit ! ) So there I was, surely not looking my best, certainly not feeling my best and Greg brings me breakfast in bed...a bowl of prunes ! In this world of face transplants ( which incidently doesn't seem too bad an idea this morning !! ) and brain surgery, I dont think it would be too much to expect to, find a treatment for you "know what " that doesn't include yucky prunes and a very yucky "drink".. Yesterday, I took the powder that turns like magic into said yucky stuff, I took 3 little "helpers" that supposedly will speed up the unsavoury process and I ate the supposedly magical prunes and i waited...and waited and yes, you've guessed it...waited some more.Oh, it did work, at 11.33pm and 12.15am at 12 36am (just after I had struggled to get my broken body into bed !!!). Oh yes, it did work, but why oh why did it have to wait till silly oclock ????

I hurt...but I have just got through the 2nd spine surgery in 4 weeks so by all the laws of reasoning, I should expect to hurt, I just have to remember no pain no gain and it will be nice to walk more like a regular homo sapien and less like the hunchback of Notra Dame !

The lambs are coming fast and furious, once the first one pops ( they look like barrage balloons )it is like a green GO signal. It's all keeping Greg on the move, just what he needed with me currently "out of service ". One of the ladies gave us triplets but, sadly the first came with all its parts coming out in the correct order, the remaining two lambs were breach and a leg of each of the lambs were trying to be born..at the same time ! As we all know, if we know little else about lambing ( or any kind of birthing for that matter !!) , the birth canal was not designed for 2 at a time or birthing in the fast lane ! Greg had to re organise the jumble of limbs and torsos from under the mommy ewes tail ! Two of three little balls of fluff made it, but we lost the third, we hate to lose a baby, but at lease we know that we gave it every chance.

Well, I'm banned from exerting myself, sitting too long..standing too long or lying too long and Greg the back police is enforcing the law..to the letter !! I'm off to bed, I can't get in too much trouble there ! Just one last comment, THANK YOU to all the lovely helpers who kept the farm running throughout this "little" health blip, we really do appreciate you so much, we are so lucky and blessed to have you all as friends and neighbors. Thank you also to those who have phoned to cheer me up or just to let me know that we are in your thoughts and prayers, we love you all. Take care, M

Oh Maureen, you poor thing. I know this must be driving you crazy to be out of commission. You are always so full of life and energy. You were out there working your ass off when Greg went through his back problems (by the way, how is Greg's back now?) I wish I could be at the farm helping out. That was truly one of the happiest times of my life when I had my horses there. I still haven't found Envy, but Midnight is coming out here this Monday and he is going to stay at a farm close to you. Every day I think I will come and see you, but this rotating schedule and working so much is killing me. I know that I have got to make changes, but I can't yet figure it out.
You are such a special person to me and a role model. I miss seeing you. Take good care of yourself. Spring is on it's way, but you just can't tell this week with all the rain. I have heard that prune juice mixed with Sprite or 7-Up tastes like Dr. Pepper, but I've never tried it. Hopefully you will wake up soon, the pain will be gone, and you can be out in the sun with your animals and beside Greg again.

We miss seeing you when we are out there so get well soon. We brought Brian and his friend out today to see the new lambs. She thought they were cute, but who wouldn't. Michelle has really enjoyed bringing in and caring for Charm over the last two days. I know if she could, she would be there every day.
