Quest the Diplomat

It was a great way to end an otherwise crazy day. The morning started with the truck not starting with all sorts of noises from in the dashboard and under the hood. Uh... when you only have one vehicle, its critical when the truck won't start. So we did what our visitors usually do, WALK to the barns! Unheard of at 0730 in the morning. it really was refreshing, but half our gear was left in the non-starting truck. And no, Daisy has not delivered the calf yet. So hurry through the chores so Greg can determine whats gone wrong with the truck. Bring on the old Ford. Hook up the jumper cables and the Chevy rattles, groans and sputters to a start. Now what?? That didn't sound right. Bad battery? it would not start with the charger jump starter. Hmmm. Go but two new batteries just cause... Oh yeah, New batteries in hand and the truck is starting great with the old batteries. Both old ones test out good. So... We will see what happens in the morning. If no start then is there something that is locked on and draining the batteries??
On the best note of the day, Quest was a star. We decided to venture a little further today and rode over to the neighbors. The little kids always would go see Lady and Quest when they were in the big field. Now that Lady is in a different field in the back and Quest is with Charm they don't get to see Quest as often. We were surprised to see Quest so calm with everyone. He actually seemed to be enjoying himself. He is trotting beautifully and Maureen is learning the rising trot so the two are in harmony. Gorgeous to watch the two of them together. I actually thought we would never see this day the way our luck had been going with the horses. Its been 9 years since his birth and it so nice to see him finally being ridden the way we envisioned. No its time for me to get on Starbuck and see if we can start riding out together again. Lets hope...
Stay safe and take care. Time for bed.
