Well, I think I have seen it all now! Gimpy took an escorted wheelbarrow ride this evening. Sadly poor old Gimpys’ 3 hefty lambs have taken a tole on the ewes’ body. Gimpy has had her milky bar open 24/7 and whilst the boys grew hale and hearty poor Gimpy has started to fade. Executive decision made and Gimpys boys were on their own, milky bar closed and mommy was wheeled off for some well earned RandR minus her three voracious offspring. Sadly, Gimpy was reluctant to head off for easy street and with Greg pulling and Jasper pushing ( maybe I should have warned him that the back end of a sheep is particularly nasty..and I should know!) Some quick thinking, hay was turfed out of a mega sized wheelbarrow and Gimpys’ boney butt was backed into her limo. Last sight of Gimpy this evening, head buried in a grain bucket and knee deep in hay, she thinks she has died and gone to sheep Heaven..minus her offspring.
The boys worked hard today, gates were hung, posts set and railroad ties buried. They dug holes and filled them in, levelled and tamped,..Jasper is going to hurt in the morning, hopefully the sticky pecan brownies will compensate for the pain.
Greg here... Just wanted to finish this up so our morning readers could get their daily dose. Maureen is busy putting on the Ritz for the animals (down at the barn not those on the street!). I love it too.
I think we have foiled the flying diner. There has been no sign of free goodies being taken from the chicken pen. The fish net appears to be doing the job as well as the hotwire along the edge of the pen. We will keep you updated if there are any changes. Hopefully not!
Well its time to pack eggs and all that other stuff to get ready to start the daily exercise regime. We love it. Hope you all have a great day. Oh yeh, please say an extra prayer for Jean and mum J as they are headed for surgery soon.
