Now its Qautre (standing author!) at the keyboeard. Thanks Quatre...
Yesterday Macho and Alissia got their hooves trimmed. The
Squeeze was all set up. Greg, Ginger and I cornered the big wimp while little
Alissia followed Greg, chewing on his jacket, lasso, gloves, looking for
carrots, no fear. Macho is not always so macho. But a good boy.
Today half the crew was gone. Greg took Maureen for a
check-up while Ginger spent the day in Tacoma. John and Mal got to work
trimming back more trees while Bran supervised. Annie and I mucked out stalls,
made feeds, got saw dust, collected uneaten and damp hey to give to the
chickens and generally kept things going. Happy chickens today! They do love
their left-over hey.
The driveway is now clear of leaves and nettles.
Leaf-blowers really need to be ambidextrous.
Holley is getting much better with her hooves. I can pick
each up and have a look without much fuss. Good girl! She is also getting
acquainted with the bittersweet taste of carrots. Yum.
The day nearly done, Greg and I completed evening chores.
There is a place in the main barn driveway where I can stand and nearly every
animal can see me…. and bawl for dinner! “Me first! Me first!” Oy! There’s an
order to these things. :)
Tomorrow afternoon I will be off for the weekend, city
visit time. The Hudsons leave the day after. Sad. I have enjoyed their company
much and will miss them!
That’s all for now.
