Jaspers arrived !

Happy Sunday morning! Well, Jasper arrived and as he predicted, he was instantly recognisable, and after a long day I guess he was happy to be claimed at the airport and we were very happy to find him. Waiting at the airport sort of had the feeling of a blind date, we were watching the arriving passengers and each was closely scrutinized to try to do a match up with the Jasper we thought we were going to see. Oh we saw all kinds of shapes and sizes and the diversity of styles of dress kept me both amused and fascinated for the 90 minutes we waited for the flight which had predictably been delayed in Chicago.Jasper arrived with a big smile and we are happy to report we haven’t seen the smile leave his face yet. We are looking forward to the next couple of weeks.

Mica and I set to work on a demolition job yesterday. The word demolition brings an instant smile to my face and I’m never barely ever happier than I am with a crow bar and lump hammer in my hands. Greg had left great and detailed instructions, (you are going to love this brother Tony) we were to remove the nuts bolts and nails. The wood, at least some of it was going to be salvaged so it was to be demolished “with care”. Mica and I went to work with enthusiasm, we carefully tried to remove the wood that was put together with 10 thousand nails and very clearly NEVER intended to be demolished..by man or beast! Little Mica, bless her heart worked like a Trojan and every so often a little voice said “are you sure we can’t just saw it apart?”….Mica Mica Mica…you heard Greg, CAREFULLY, save the wood, SAVE the nails….sawing apart is against Greg policy. On cue, Greg arrived. Five minutes of crow bar and brute strength persuaded Greg to hurriedly despatch himself off to the barn and return with a chain saw. In no time at all, the feeder was in a million pieces, and what nails we saved were saved before Gregs timely intervention! Thanks Greg !!

The chicken snatcher returned last night for his/her supper and settled once again for a chicken take away. Sadly we were actually witness to the snatch this time and watched in horror ( and awe) as the huge bird swooped selected and effortlessly flew away with his supper. Todays priority has been adjusted and predator proofing the chicken pen is todays mission…..unless something even more important pops up, which may very well happen!

Well, time to get ready  for another day, got to go, Take care keep safe M
