It's was hay day...it's raining !!

That’s the life of a farmer, yesterday Mother Nature put the Pacific North West in a convection oven, this morning we have been put in the washing machine. The dream team was all geared up,mentally prepared, muscles (sore ones) flexed and body appropriately stretched courtesy of Quatre…and Lady. No one can stretch a body like Lady can, that lumpy lady should walk down the road with a red rag on her tail and a wide load sign on her butt! We were ready to hitch up the trailer and head South to help a fellow farmer get her hay up off the field but Mother Nature played her Ace..or was it her joker and last night the hay that had been baled got sprinkled on. Can’t put damp hay in the barn….so it’s back to fencing! Maybe next week ?

Yesterday Quatre gave Bran a bath, a PROPER lots of soapy suds.. good scrubbing… shouldn’t happen to a dog type bath and judging by Brans face he was less than impressed. Lesley and Mica gave Lamb Chop another butt wash..that poor scruffy lamb starts off with a Dawn dishwash clean rear end each morning but by tea time only Macho, who really doesn’t care if he smells or not as long as his grain bucket is full will go anyway near him. Talking of Macho, he and the rest of the 3 Amigos took an unauthorised day trip outside of their pasture and caused great concern when there was no sign of a testosterone charged buck, a scruffy lamb and a wanting heifer. A quick change to the days schedule (that doesn’t really exist anyway) and the team plus Bran were despatched out to fix the fence. Revenge was sweet when an unrepentant Macho blatantly attempted to breach the newly reinforced barricade with electric wire….and the newly fully charged fence let him know that it WAS working. Poor Macho !

Last night lumpy lady was saddled up again and the team got more accustomed to the steering and breaking mechanism on the one ton horse. Quatre and Derek bravely mounted a very frisky Roman who has been on extended vacation and was reluctant to get back to work, Roman is a bossy horse and is discovering that even though is a regular sized bossy horse he’s NOT big enough to be bossy with us.

Well, hopefully Greg has posted some photographs of the fun down on the farm. It’s time to go again. Take care, keep safe, M

i don't know who I feel more sorry for, Lamb Chop or the butt cleaners!
Lesley, you look like a regular behind the tractor.
We could use a day of rain here, extremely hot!
Thanks Greg for posting more pictures. I feel like an old grandma with a Brag Book.
love to all...keep smiling
