It appears ( by the invoice from the publisher that nearly created a medical emergency here !!! ) that our book is making it’s way ( at the cost of it, from the other side of the world ) here and within the next few days the story of Gertie and Quest will be a world wide phenomenon, Quest and Gertie will be household names and producers will be knocking down my door to get movie rights. I don’t think so, but it is apparently a lovely book and I’m sure Santa could possibly find a little corner in his sack for two, three, four or more ! At 8”x!10”, could be a little difficult selling them as stocking stuffers… but will look really nice under the Christmas tree. If anyone is interested in buying a copy please contact us through the web site or on Face Book for details of how to direct Santa to us. I will sign every copy and Quest could hoof print them too if requested, how is that for service ? smile.
Followers of Quests story will be happy to hear that he is back eating every shard and grain of food presented to him…and anything that isn’t but is close enough to reach. The skeletal shadow that came home to us in September is gradually filling out, his rib and hip bones no longer cause us concern and the sassy character we know as Quest is enthusiastically waiting for us ( or his breakfast) each morning as we open the barn door.
Another pressing issue at the farm has arisen….Greg has spoken ( oops) and it has been decided that we need to downsize our cow herd. Readers of the Almost Daily Diary and the Web Site will recognize that this is NOT a good thing. Out in that barn, munching hay, inhaling grass and blowing methane bubbles we have gentle cuddly Goliath and the docile compliant affectionate Holstein twins who were rescued as calves and to be honest their original final destination was the freezer BUT….. Carla and I have begun a very pro-active campaign to find at least one of the adorable threesome a home that is not calculating freezer space when they set eyes on them. It doesn’t make it any easier to think of them as T Bone or sirloin steaks when all three would happily relocate and become house cows. The three musketeers “heel” closer than Bran the Border collie and are so gentle I would trust my children with them….. thinking about it, I would possibly trust the cows more than the children !
Well, on that disturbing thought, it’s time I got this entry of the diary posted. Take care, keep safe, M
