Sadly, not being an on the spot reporter all my riveting reports are second hand and not from the horses mouth but I will do my best from the information I glean from Greg and our wonderful willing conscripts..I mean volunteer ranch hands ( my sister Annie and Malc, her patient and long suffering husband). Yesterday Annie rugged up Charm, (beauty with attitude) but not without an element of confusion. Which way round does it go ? Bless him, Charm must have wondered about the new member of staff when the horse rug went on back to front I guess Annie must have recognised her error when she tried to fasten the chest straps under his butt ! Hassan the terrorist had an "off day" yesterday and spent much of his play time on two legs. Charm was apparently very unimpressed and continued to chomp on his breakfast while Hassan practiced his brat routine. Gertie the Canadian Goose with a crush on Quest our 19 hand Shire gelding was ready and waiting for the object of her passion when the 2 draught horses were taken out to the pasture. I watched her joyfully honk when they emerged from the barn and then she proceed to walk across the pasture hop the fence and fly the pond to join her date for the day. A hopeful potential suitor tried his luck but was crushed when object of his passion rejected him in favour of her equine love.
Annie already black and blue after only two days on the ranch ( a record I think !) apparently emerged from the chicken house after being attacked by the chicken roost rack not Adolf the Rhode Island Red rooster...but there is time,he can afford to be patient.
Well, it's daylight now and I take back my "good morning", the weather is still yucky and if MJ( fox 13) is to be believed ( an I usually do) it looks like the rest of the week is going to be just as bad if not worse. Maybe enforced "rest" isn't so bad after all. Time to go for a walk to the bedroom and back, I'm done sitting for a while.Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers,we really appreciate you all. Take care, keep safe. M
