Yesterday I was back to the doctor and am happy to report that my recovery continues. The infection in my spine is clearing up and consequently, the pain is considerably lessened. Everyone knows I’m getting better…it’s harder to keep me under control. Greg, aka back police or Nurse Cratchett is making a valiant effort but secretly I know he is happy to see me feeling so much better. I know,….I can hear it close by and from across the pond….I promise I will be careful and take it slow. ( before I get the well meaning lectures !!!)
Ginger is “all treed out”, I think that if she has to prune yet another out of control apple tree, she might change her mind about farming. The trees are looking good thanks to her efforts, hopefully the Spring will bring much apple blossom and subsequently a great harvest.
As some light relief ( I think she may have hidden the tree pruner. Smile) Ginger went round the barn like a whirlwind sweeping up hay that has collected on the barn floor. All sweepings were put in sacks pretty much the same height as Ginger and donated to the ecstatic chickens. Hay isn’t of much nutritional value to the ladies but a scoopful of hay sweepings and those chickens will scratch and squabble for hours. The chickens are happy, the barn floor is swept and Ginger had an escape from the apple trees. It’s all good !.
Work is underway to build two new horse stalls in an area pre determined for equine accommodation but up until recently Lamb Chop’s solitary home. Lamb Chop doesn’t know he is a sheep, he thinks he could be a cow…but they beat him up, he maybe a goat, but Macho “the man” and his expectant significant other, Alissia just abused him. For some time he lived in solitude but safety, enjoying all the people and subsequent carrots that passed his way. Currently the lamb is living with little Hol-ley this years calf…sadly as she grows, so does her attitude and Lamb Chop is going to have to learn to retaliate…or run. At least one of the new horse stalls must be completed by the end of the month and Greg and Quatre have been busily constructing the new home for a little pony that is due to be arriving on the 29th. More news on her ( yes, a her) later. I’m sure that both Charm and Roman will have more than a little interest in hormones on four legs.
Time to move, things to do…people to see..I wish ! If you have a moment, please visit the “Hope for Georgia” page, these children world wide have an unknown future and desperately need our help. Thank you
Take care, keep safe, M
