Taking advantage of the cool morning, everyone got to work on our first harvest or pears. This year we even beat the wasps and birds! The pears are right at prime picking stage and we just starting to turn to the tree ripe stage. MMMmmmm good. I am looking forward to a new batch of pear wine and some preserves.
Progress was also made on Lady's new digs. It was decided to put her back into her original stall when we first arrived here. It will be better for Quest to stay in his old stall so he can feel more at home and help keep him settled. He is doing great and "eating like a horse". It will also be better for us to monitor his feed if he is in his own stall. It is lovely to see Quest and Lady together, but they are BIG horses and the stall does get pretty messy are night. A nightmare to clean!
Well time to go. The animals await and everyone is polishing off the last of their breakfast ruminants. Take care and stay safe. G
PS, only 9 more days!!
