Escape !!!! Yesterday was a good day ! I got to go down to the barn and visit !!! I wasn't allowed to do much else and the back police were vigilant, around every corner, in every pen and hiding in the hay pile. I only had to think "bend or lift " and the radars picked up on my crime...but it was still a good day.
Annie and Malc have been a great help and taken a lot of pressure off Greg but I'm sure that they are waking up with aches and pains that they dont remember having before.

Gertie the goose is making her presence known and is becoming more posessive of her oversized amour. On Friday evening Gertie was none too impressed when Annie and malc went to take Lady and Quest out of the pasture for the night or maybe she was trying to book her reservation in the barn. Gertie followed the horses down the road and through the farm gates before she honked her goodnights and took off to go wherever it is she spends her lonesome nights. Gertie was ready and waiting yesterday morning, standing outside the farm giving herself a wash and brush up ready for her date and totally unconcerned by the regular comings and goings of farm traffic. Greg doing his hay run on the quad with Bran the border collie riding as his hoodie had to go around her as she less than patiently waited...and waited. When Lady and Quest appeared she honked her greetings and then followed them to the field ready to spend another day with her oversized friends. Other geese come and go but I guess they dont look as handsome as her chosen one and they leave without her.

Poor Annie went to collect the eggs from the shack yesterday but didn't take into account the 3 Amigos. Daisy, Lamb Chop and Macho who are free to roam but, aware of the buckets of food that were traversing the farm to all the different pens wanted to make sure they were in the right place at the right time...when their bucket ( or, for that matter, any bucket !! ) arrived ! Unfortunately for Annie, 2 buckets of chicken grain and a basket of eggs looked very promising to the enthusiastic and apparently ravenous 3. As Annie backed out of the chicken house trying not to stand on the dozen little chicks inside, Daisy, Macho and Lamb Chop were ready and waiting for her. Out came Annies Butt...up went Daisys head .... end result a flustered Annie and a basket of prematurely scrambled eggs. Lesson for today...always make sure that the 3 Amigos are securely tucked up in their pen for the night before you go anywhere near their pen !

So, another day dawns and it looks like the sun is going to shine. I am feeling better, it's great having Annie and Malc here....Life is good. Take care, keep safe, M
