Isn't it amazing how a new baby can completely change a familys routine ? Greg and I are walking round with kitchen towel hanging out of the back pocket of our jeans, the kitchen counter has old pepsi bottles drying and little red teats are set out in a co- ordinating row. We have turned overnight into experts, we know when that cute little mouth starts to salivate, it's coming up on feed time, we know when she is going to pee and worse, when she is getting ready to poo. We ( oh well, actually Greg has, I am good for observation ..where, when and what )have turned into a 2 minute miler, he can get from one side of the house to the other when the alarm sounds, before the offender has even started to offend. Before the little yellow puddle starts to spread over the linoleum or the little pile of "do do" hits the carpet Greg is there with his little square of kitchen towel.
The cause of this major disruption in our normally fairly routine life, Chance, the little white lamb that her mommy didn't want. That little girl is CUTE in capital letters, love her up and she all but purrrrs, put her back in her kennel and she will object, very loudly and very consistently. When Greg is working in the kitchen Chance follows him around, when Greg sits down Chance wraps herself around his feet and woe beside us if Greg has the audacity to leave the room.I have hunted high and low to find the diapers ( nappys for us Brits !) but so far they are still in hiding and the kitchen towel is our best friend !Yesterday she spent the day in the sheep pen, it was hard to imagine that little lamb was almost dead before she had lived. Chance can bounce higher and further than all the other lambs in the lambing pen, she can bleat louder and longer than her siblings and she doesn't think she is a sheep ! Poor Bran went to check on the sheep, Chance spotted her pal and bounced over for a visit but Smudge, mother of her own healthy little lambs was not impressed by his diligence or his close proximity to her babies and, head down, T-boned the unsuspecting Border collie. Strangely, Brans enthusiasm for watching the sheep vanished, tail between his legs and loudly wailing he bolted to a safer location. The cows are always good entertainment for a border collie looking for action that doesn't get too close ! and Hassan the young Arab gelding (aka the terrorist) may just find something to panic at , if there is a  possibility of a chase, Bran will be there!

Well, I've got my cup of tea, I've sat long enough it's time for my lie down. It's raining and windy out there so maybe I wont feel too bad about my medical house arrest today. Take care, Keep safe. M
