It rained last night, little biddy raindrops fell from the apparently cloudless sky…it is wet here this morning! TYPICAL, yesterday found us running around the farm trying to attach up aged hosepipes to every faucet we could find, hosepipes with tiny holes, big holes, fixed with duct tape and hosepipes clearly resurrected from the special place where dead hosepipes go. I had so many wet t shirts I would have been banned from the Puyallup fair as a professional wet t shirt granny !! One of the items from the forward planning list for our amazing Woofer team is chickens. “Chickens” covers multiple fields all potentially good educational exercises for our potential farmers. Unfortunately “chickens” ( said quickly “chickens”is quite dismissive…our chickens were NOT dismissive and my feeling is, those birds will be remembered for a long time to come! )Our intention was that the interns would become familiar..sometimes TOO familiar with the birds from birth to processing…and they did! We ordered several types of chickens, fast white Cornish, slow white Cornish, slow growing red and slow grow growing black as well as some egg laying breeds. Well…..they did learn, they learnt that day old chicks are super sweet but it isn’t too long before those endearing little cheepy balls of fluffy feathers  turn into big smelly chickens that eat too much and are champion projectile pooers. Cleaning out the fast growing birds( henceforth “affectionally” to be known as Somos) is a painful, mentally and physically chore but our A team have survived and now the question is would they in fact choose to include the sumos in their farm plan..mess, smell and all ????!! The slow growing birds have quietly watched the numbers dwindling in the formerly happy smelly home and are fortunately unaware that their time is  simply delayed..until the next time. I guess the A team have seen enough chicken butts for a very long time.. but they will be experts!!

Quick rundown on the other farm residents…Azam’ s fingers appear to be recovering, I guess they are as he chose to tattoo the bandaid. As his hostess, I was more than a little happy as he tucked into his dinner with a very healthy appetite. Azam has already proved to be easily my biggest challenge in the culinary field and it warmed the soul to see him eat!

Lesley’s arms appear to have recovered and, having nagged incessantly,( I’m sure more than a mom is allowed and I'm not her mom!! ) I am able to let her work without harassing her. Lesley is back to normal and we all learnt a lesson from her problem, give up before . Glad it got better Lesley.

Danielle is also recovering ..or just really enjoys the drugs she has been prescribed. Whatever the reason, she is back up on her legs and very vocal when food is in the goat zone.

Hol-ley is becoming more endearing daily, Lamb Chop and Daisy mae couldn’t get cuter and Macho is being kept at a distance as he has started to apply his aftershave VERY liberally hence, he stinks.

Got to get going, I’m not on time, I’m late and my two fingers have gone numb!! Take care, keep safe, M
