So, what’s going on down at the barn…or what can I remember that I was told about activities on the ranch……???? Wayne, the AI ( intravenous man) came to remove the blue plastic straw that had been inserted into Molly Moos “nether regions” to bring her into season and get those hormones flowing ready for the calf stork to pay her a visit next week. By all accounts Molly Moo would rather have had Mr. McGee the bull visit in person and she was less than gracious with the substitute syringe but hopefully, in 9 months time she will have forgotten and forgiven.
Lamb Chop and baby Hol-ley the calf have become inseparable and it is so cute to watch the two, out in the pasture, sharing the same piece of grass and so captivating to see the two babies gambolling, regardless of the weather,in the sunshine, wind or rain .Lamb Chop is returned to his pen each evening which ensures that little Hol-ley is able to eat her evening calf ration and Lamb Chop, who will eat anything and everything (whether it moves or not !!) gets his own in a stainless steel bowl licked so clean it never needs washing.
Well, It’s a bit tough writing this in bed at the same time trying to take care of errant discs L5 and S1….who clearly haven’t taken very good care of me. Take care, keep safe and well. M
