I would like to take this lucid moment to thank all the people, through the web site or through Facebook for their very kind and thoughtful messages. It is very warming to be in so many peoples thoughts and prayers and both Greg and I would like to let you know that we really appreciate each and every one.
So….what was happening yesterday whilst my brain was taking an unscheduled vacation !!!…….
Our wonderful 90 year old unpaid but much loved and very much appreciated ranch hand was hard at work down at the barn. Mom sees no chore as too difficult and considers her advanced age just an inconvenience. Yesterday Mom got to work with the sweeping brush, prepared the feeds, made sure everyone had water and still thought she had done nothing significant…we know you HAVE Mom and really appreciate everything you do. Whist Mom was doing her thing, Ursula our other very special ranch hand just quietly got on with her chores. Ursula has become our self designated “chicken lady” and believe me, we have the cleanest, most hygienic chicken houses in the whole USA if not the whole world! If it needs cleaning….and sometimes, even if it doesn’t Ursula will clean it ! Thank you Ursula…even without “the boss” around !!!!
Our young Heifer, Daisy May is clearly determined that Lamb Chop.and Little Hol-ley aren’t going to be the scene stealers on this ranch. Daisy May has become a cuddle bug, takes every oppertunity for a passing scratch and just melts into an extended scratch, eyes closed, legs spread and quivering in anticipation whilst a low moo, like a cat’s purr comes from deep within.
Apparently the magic of the moment is spoiled when the quiet murmuring moo is replaced by a hellacious belch. sounding and smelling like it had originated in hell !
Greg and Darryl have been hard at work fixing the pistons on the Back Hoe. Apparently, despite the fact that the pistons had been marked “a” and “b” on removal, unfortunately said pistons had been in the wrong place to start with,......”b” was “a” and “a “was “b” ! I wasn’t there but my hunch is that my swear jar will….oops…errrr…….would have benefited hugely ! We met Darryl over the garden fence. Isn’t it strange how a total stranger can become a lifetime friend ? Thank you for your help Darryl,
Well, the letters are sort of blending into each other and I think I’m done for today. Take care, M
